The Ethics Cup has collaborated with the RSE Young Academy of Scotland and the Centre for Responsible Debate to produce a set of learning resources on responsible debate. Going through these exercises one-by-one would constitute excellent preparation for competing in the Cup!
If you are preparing to participate in an Ethics Cup tournament in which moderator’s questions will be used (see, for instance, the match format for the 2026 Cup finals) there are some materials available to you that will help you to get a grip on what sort of thing a moderator’s question might be. To start with, look at the 2025-26 Regionals Case Set for the Ethics Cup’s sister tournament in the U.S., the National High School Ethics Bowl (NHSEB). Then look at the the moderator’s questions that were used for those cases in NHSEB’s regional and divisional rounds.
