The 2025 Ethics Cup was contested initially at nine regional tournaments across England and Scotland:

- University of Sheffield
- University of Edinburgh
- North-east Scotland
- University of Liverpool
- Durham University
- London
- University of Manchester
- Nottingham
- Caterham School
The most successful 12 schools from those tournaments converged on St Andrews on 10 June for a single-day, winner-take-all competition, debating cases like climate protests, the use of AI to make music, and in vitro meat, with each team initially playing two matches in a group stage, and the four group winners proceeding to the knockout stage. One semi-final pitted Caterham School against Winstanley College, with Caterham winning in a split decision. In the other, Albyn School squared off against Elgin Academy, with Elgin winning in a split decision. Thus the stage was set for the final, with Caterham School facing Elgin Academy in front of a distinguished panel of judges: Stella Maris, Rector of the University of St. Andrews, Sally Mapstone, Principal of the University of St. Andrews, and Vitalii Diakov, founder of the Ukrainians Together project. By a 3-0 vote, Caterham won the match and the right to display the cup itself until the 2026 finals. Well done to them!
